Step1: Download v4.0.0.6

This download is the full package. BMD4 is now a standalone .exe file with no installation needed.

 

Step2: Unzip the file
Unzip the file and you will find a folder with the following files.

 

Step3: Copy The Demon .exe file into Existing folder
Copy the new demon .exe file and overwrite the one in your current folder.

Step3: Copy three files from your old folder

EdwinSoft.BookmarkingDemon.exe.config (this file contains your license key)

We have eliminated the need for bin folder, data folder and the four .dll files in future versions. Everything will be housed in one folder now.

Step4: Paste the three files into the new folder.

 

Step5: Double Click the Demon

IMPORTANT
1. The entire proxy server handling engine has been rewritten. More check points are introduced to test if a proxy server is healthy.
2. BMD revised its version convention into the following format:

[Main Version].[Major Feature Release].[Minor Feature Release].[Patch Release].

Example:
- PLIGG will be available in version 4.1.0.0 as it is going to be a major feature release.
- Purging of logs to free up disk space will be available in 4.1.1.0 as it is a minor feature release after releaseing PLIGG.
- Fixing a bug that causes BMD to crash under certain condition will be available in 4.1.1.1 as it is a patch release after releasing log purger.

The revision of version is necessary for us to push out latest BMD patch to all existing users. This is to allow us to provide all users a better user experience.

1. Import "My Web Page" from CSV prompts for each Url added.

1. Removed the setting "I want to check if proxy server is still alive during bookmarking" from Perferences->Connection.

BUG FIXES
1. PING is not working properly for social profiles.
2. Saving of accounts and bookmarks data sometimes do not include the complete extension (.accounts.bmd & .bookmarks.bmd) in the filename.
3. BMD will crash when importing from .txt or .csv files in x64 environment.
4. BMD will crash when all web pages are deleted from "My Web Pages" of PING page and switching to the Bookmarks Page.
5. Generate username will have space if user have entered a space in firstname.
6. BMD ignores a URL if it have spaces in it.
7. PING was reflecting the "PING Queue is empty" when it isn't empty. A message bug.
8. PING caches content of "My Web Pages" in the queue. Even though user have removed it from their bookmarks, if you click "Start PING", it will still be sent for pinging.

CHANGES
1. PING now reflect "The PING queue is empty." when there is nothing to ping.
2. PING now reflect "The PING queue is not empty. Waiting for next submission time." when there is something to ping.
3. PING now check for new profiles to be added to the queue every ~60 seconds (applicable only when "Start Ping" is clicked).
4. Added context menu when BMD is minimized to systray. Accessible by right clicking on the small demon icon at the bottom right of Windows bar.
5. Added "Submit Support Ticket" to Help menu.
6. Minimum and maximum time to wait between each post has been changed to 900 seconds.
7. Added a login delay telling BMD how long to wait before logging into any social bookmarking site.
8. Made some tweaks to the usage of proxy server during bookmarking.

BUG FIXES
1. Clicking on the checkbox of "Main", "Scuttle" and "ScuttlePlus" does not indicate that it is been selected. User have to scroll the scrollbar to see the changes.
2. Unable to "Add My Web Page" or "Crawl My Web Site" when one of the input fields of the 2 forms failed validating event.
3. BMD will crash if "data" folder is not found while saving accounts.bmd & bookmarks.bmd files.
4. BMD does not accept domain name with _ (underscore) in it.
5. "Save Account As" will throw exception under certain circumstances.
6. A data file can be loaded multiple times and thus creating multiple duplicate entries.
7. Selecting a crawling depth of 10 will crash BMD.
8. When user switch to Expert mode during loading, the forms are not reflected correctly.
9. Smartbreak was case-sensitive. BMD will not break correctly if it does not conform to the format #break#.
10. Crawler panel was not closing correctly when switched from Expert to Beginner mode.

3. There are times when the randomizer return 0 pages for bookmarking (due to law of luck). Randomizer will now always return a minimum of 1 page for bookmarking submission. This is provided that there is at least 1 page available for bookmarking

5. Main input screen now changes color as user switch between "Beginners" and "Experts" mode to make it easier to identify.

BUG FIXES
1. BMD configuration not loaded when user run it for the first time.

2. Adding a non-resolvable site from Bookmark->Add Website will throw null pointer exception.

3. Adding only 1 website in the "Bookmark" page in expert mode, double-click to edit any field and hitting ESC key will crash BMD.

4. Unable to set proxy for BMD to use vidalia proxy. Have to set it on IE and get BMD to use the proxy setting from IE to work.

5. The bookmarking logs does not reflect the latest when a user post bookmarks to social sites. It will only reflect when a user save + restart of BMD.

CHANGES
1. Added configurable setting to turn transparency in BMD on/off by using the mouse scroller. Default = Off.

2. Default filename for Save/Load of accounts & my web sites has been changed to default.accounts.bmd & default.bookmarks.bmd respectively.

You have to change the file extension if you want to reuse your saved profile from v4.0.0.0 beta.

mywebsites.bmd --> bookmarks.bmd
sites.bmd            --> accounts.bmd

Simply locate the saved file and rename the file as shown.

If you are unable to see the file extension, you can do the following to see the file extension:
